Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

As health expenses continue to rise around the country, we as a comfort consultant are striving to find a solution to indoor health risks. UV lighting systems and HEPA filtration are leading the march against poor IAQ. Combined with the ever-growing knowledge of our consumers, we at WSC are dedicated to providing our customers with the most healthy and comfortable living atmosphere available.

In recent tests conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), we have learned that 50% of all illnesses are either caused or irritated by poor indoor air quality. This information makes a drastic impact on our lifestyles considering that the average American spends 90% of their time indoors. In light of this, is it any wonder that over 60 million people suffer from allergies and asthma?

A test administered by AirAdvice in 2004 of some 10,000 homes proved that IAQ may be a bigger problem than any of us ever anticipated. An astonishing 96% of homes tested showed a difficiency in one of the six areas measured by their metering devices. 42% of the homes had a problem in two areas, and 29% suffered from problems in three or more areas. Not suprisingly, the most common IAQ problem was particulate level. Insufficient air filtration is the leading cause for this problem.

WSC prides itself in being one of the formost IAQ consultants in our region. We provide many options when it comes to IAQ filtration and treatment and proudly use AirAdvice metering devices to test indoor air problems. These small metering centers are placed in the area to be surveyed and monitor six potential IAQ hazard areas:

Carbon Monoxide

Temperature

Relative Humidity

Carbon Dioxide

Volatile Organic Compounds

Airborne Particulates

This information is then transferred to AirAdvice where IAQ specialists assess the data and provide us with a detailed view of your home's IAQ. Using this data, we can then produce a custom report that allows us to help you find the products that best suit your home's individual needs.
